In the summer of 2018, Netflix’s original film, To All The Boys I Loved Before had made its first debut on the television/movie streaming platform site starring well known actor Noah Centineo and newcomer Lana Condor in the principal roles of Peter Kavinsky and Lara Jean Song - Covey respectively who eventually start to have a secret relationship in the beginning of the movie and eventually started dating for real at the end. Talk about rocky starts to relationships! Currently, In the calm before Valentine’s Day in February 2020, Netflix had released a sequel to the beloved series, eventually creating a second film in the franchise, along with a potential third one that will come out by around 2022, which would have a two year interval between the release dates (2018, 2020, 2022). In this sequel, we are introduced to John Ambrose McClaren, played by Jordan Fisher, for those who don’t know is known for his Disney roles on Liv and Maddie and Teen Beach Movie who is is another recipient of Lara Jean’s love letters alongside Peter, Josh Sanderson (her sister’s ex), Lucas James (her best friend) and Kenny Donati.
John works alongside Lara Jean in a senior living house for school community service. Later, John, Lara Jean, Christie (her best friend), Peter, and Jen (Peter’s ex and Christie’s cousin) decided to have a time capsule ceremony since the 5 of them had buried a momento together back in middle school. There has been some brief tension regarding John and Peter since they both had received letter from Lara Jean and Gen and Lara herself because they both had dated/ dating Peter. At the end, Peter and Lara make up at the dance and dig deeper into their feelings for each other. This sums up the 2/3rds of the To All The Boys I Loved franchise and the second film. Next up: Always and Forever, Lara Jean.
