Alex Montanile, a senior, is getting ready for his last season with the Ardsley Varsity Baseball Team. Alex has been part of Ardsley’s baseball program since modified and made his varsity debut during his sophomore year. When asked about his favorite part of baseball, Alex answered that it was his passion for “competition and being part of the team”. He explains how he, “loves the feeling after throwing someone out or driving a ball into a gap” and how “every guy on the team is relying on every other one of their teammates to give their 1/9 every day”. The Ardsley varsity baseball team has been continuing to improve every year and is ready to have another amazing season this coming spring. In addition to his wins on the Ardsley team, Alex has also dominated the field on his travel baseball team and helped them win regionals.
Because of his love for the sport and being part of a team, Alex will be continuing his baseball career at the City College of New York. He is very excited to be doing so considering he has always dreamed of playing at a higher level. Alex thanks his coaches, parents, teammates and the Ardsley community for all of the support for allowing him to live out his dream. Alex exemplifies all the criteria of being a passionate and driven AHS athlete and we can’t wait to see everything he does in the future!
