JAIME RUBINO: NO TIME TO BE UPSET by Maya Levine

Credit: Jaime Rubino

Jaime Rubino, a senior here at Ardsley High School is one of the captains of the Ardsley Varsity girls soccer team and is this issue’s spotlight athlete! Jaime has been on our varsity team for 4 years and was on JV in 8th grade. Although Jaime loves playing the intense game of soccer, her favorite part of the sport is her team. Jaime explains that, “the people on the team have been with me forever and I instantly feel comfortable with any new member.” Considering the entire team always has each other’s backs to help, Jaime describes the soccer team as a family. In addition to being a team player, Jaime received the Most Honorable Mention award at the section dinner last year. On top of that, Jaime has scored twice this year as a defender! Although a shining star on Ardsley’s varsity team, Jaime is not planning on pursuing her soccer career in college but would like to possibly join a club team.

After being a captain for two years, Jaime has learned that a team both wins and loses together. As a team leader, Jaime lives by the philosophy that there is an expiration date to your soccer career and there's no time to be upset over a loss. Jaime exemplifies all the criteria of being a true AHS athlete and we are looking forward to seeing everything she does in the future!
