Ms. LoFaso is the new Special Education teacher at Ardsley High School. She worked at Horace Greeley High School for 10 years and worked at Brewster Schools for 12 years which makes her teaching career span a total of 22 years! When she was student teaching at a correctional facility, she discovered that students had many different types of learning needs and abilities and was interested in helping those who had learned differently. She decided she wanted to become a special education teacher.
Her favorite books are To Kill A Mockingbird and The Catcher in the Rye. On weekends, Ms. LoFaso likes to spend time with her family and go outdoors. Her three children (Owen (13), Peyton (12), and Finn (9)) participate in athletic activities and musical events. A fact that is unique to her is that she played lacrosse at Yorktown High School and played in college at SUNY Albany. Since then, she has coached for Horace Greeley and is now coaching for her daughter Peyton’s lacrosse team. Her advice to those who want to become teachers is to make sure you really have a passion for teaching before you start teaching professionally.
