So far, this year’s election race has had its major ups and downs. Starting with few candidates early on like Kamala Harris dropping out, the bids started turning to Biden. As of now, it seems to be between Biden and Sanders. With Buttigieg in a seeming promise early on, many were shocked with his sudden dropping out. Now, Bloomberg, Buttigieg, and Warren are out of the race. While most previous candidates are currently endorsing Biden, there still seems to be promise for Sanders as he sweeps up certain states. On the other side, Trump seems to be consistently taking the lead. With all the allegations of Russia hacking the elections in 2016, is it possible that they could pull it off this time?
To start off, there are allegations claiming that Russia would hack the electoral system to put Sanders as the Democrat nominee. Why would they endorse a far-left nominee? Possibly because they recognize the widespread concern for his more “socialist” views, hence they could see many center, Republican, and even Democrat voters to turn to Trump’s favor. Russia, allegedly, supports Trump and hence would prefer his second term. Yet such claims are not confirmed, and many do not believe this is the case. While the Republicans seem to share the common favor of Trump, the Democrats have had a long and divided scramble on who would be their nominee.
On one side there are the super progressive, far left Democrats who have supported candidates such as Warren and Sanders, other more center-left Democrats typically oppose them. They would support candidates such as Biden or Buttigieg. Hence, the greatest conflict for the Democrats is between Sanders and Biden. The main concern for them is which candidate could oust Trump and prevent a reelection?
